Thanks for the concern folks but it aint looking good! No discernable cheeping was to be heard so I took one of the eggs from under her and and it was 'sloshy' Broke it in the compost heap and it was just yellow stinky liquid.
Later in the day I took another egg and it was the same I'm afraid. I am gutted, not for myself but for her!
Didn't have the nerve to check any more so there's a slim chance???????............but I'm not holding my breath!

I feel really deflated, but because I am allotment Secretary I had to faff on renting a new plot, taking money, issuing keys and showing new dude around when my heart wasn't really in it.
As a consolation my other nine chooks all laid good clean eggs this morning as if to say " Hey, what about us? we're still doing the business"

Not a fairytale end to proceedings I know, but it's not over till the fat lady sings! Tomorrow is another day!

I think we are all gutted. This must have been one the most watched grapes. (Is that the right term?)
