That's wonderful news I'm really thrilled for you. How many are you getting and have you thought of any names yet?
Thanks for the congratulations everyone. We're dithering over names. I was thinking of traditional names like Hermione, Gwendolyn, Cynthia. I've already vetoed hubby's suggestion of Tikka and Paxo
Then I thought about possibly Cagney, Lacy, Starsky and Hutch. Or possibly naming them after friends, which would be okay so long as they never find out! Can you imagine it? "Karen's growing some lovely feathers and we had our first egg out of Liz today......"
Before my grandchildren got their chickens, the eldest, Emily (14) said that "one day when you're dead Nan, I'm going to have a chicken called Maureen". When they did get their chickens, I asked Emily if hers was going to be Maureen. "No, don't be daft, you're not dead yet!" Goodness knows where she got the name Sheldon from! Mine are all flowers, Hazel, Hyacynth, Ivy, Myrtle, Poppy, Violet, Daisy, Iris, Pansy, Bluebell, Marigold and Honeysuckle. Rose and Petunia are in the big chook house in the sky
My girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there
