When will a hen lay again after being broody?

Hi all,
Hope you are all wrapping up as it seems like autumn is on her way with a vengance

All in the title really; my hen was broody & hatched 5 lovley chicks which are now a week old. Just wanted to have an idea when she will lay again or what happens next. My other half is convinced they don't lay after hatching chicks!!

Hens most definitely do lay again after having chicks. It's a bit dependent on the individual hen but typically the hen will look after her chicks for a couple of months and come into lay shortly after. It can vary though - I have a hen who got bored of her offspring after one month and laid an egg about 6 weeks after her chicks hatch, but that's a little exceptional! Congratulations on the brood! It's so lovely having chicks around.
