A new-hatched chick can survive a day or more without food, that is why day-olds can be shipped around the country (but not 3-day-olds).

She made it through the night....
I have kept a light weight on the back of her neck all night and it seems to have worked. She can now stand and walk without falling backwards. I have put her in the brooder this morning and she is doing good, she is trying to eat and has had a drink. My only concern is that she doesn't move from under the lamp like the orher 2 when there hot.
She has to make it on her own today as I am back to work.....

Well Done getting her through the night,(you really sound like you've done all your reasearch,I'm impressed~I'd've probably not had the 1st clue what to do!)here's hoping it's just a case of being the runt of the litter & that she'll soon catch up to the others.

number 3 has made it through another night and has now been named lucky by my neighbours kids.

number 4 never hatched......

It was cheeping inside the egg but never actually hatched, I decided not to intervene as there may have been deformities that stopped it. So it was left to nature.

But on a brighter note 3 are doing well and a great addition to the family.

It isn't a good rate at all, and they came in 3 boxes and the hatched one's all came from the same box.

I really have my suspicions about some e-bay sellers..........
