          • There is only 1 egg left to hatch now and I don't think I'll be lucky enough to catch the hatching again (they like to do it when your not watching). I would of missed it if I didn't have a sore eye, as I would have been at work. She is now safely back in the incubator so she can find her feet and fluff up.

                • It is even funnier watching them try to use there huge feet, it normally takes a few hours of lying on there backs looking at them before they totally get the hang of using them. They then stubble round for a day or so in every direction but the one they want to go in. It is extremely amusing watching them.

                      • I was wondering how you'd bear to leave them.

Thank you so much for posting those amazing photos, I've had a horrible morning at work with the public being stunningly unpleasant on the phone and reading back on this thread was just the antidote I needed

                        • Really bad news!!!!!!!

The third chick to hatch looks like it has droopy neck (where the head hangs back over the body) I have to wait till my OH gets home but it looks like it will be to cruel to let it go on as it won't be able to walk, eat or drink properly.

I wish I didn't have a sore eye and had gone to work, it has been horrible watch it struggle to walk.

                          • That is a shame. Will you wait a couple of days to see if it strengthens up?

                            • awwwww poor ikkle thing, could it not just be caused by being in the egg?? maybe it will be ok in a couple of days??

                              • If it doesn't feed it will not be here in a couple of days. I am going to sit later and see if I can get it to feed if not it will die itself. I cannot put it in with the other 2 as it falls over on to it's back and they peck at it, it can't get itself back up as it's balance is the wrong way. This is a deformity that is caused through genes, inbreeding or could be crazy chick where mum didn't have enough vitamin E.
I don't think it would be fair to allow it to starve or suffer.
At the moment it is living in my dressing gown pocket as it is warm and supported.
