All good things are worth waiting for Lynda. Miserable day weather wise so don't let THAT rub off on you!
I'll check in later!
My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)
Stop being miserable!! The weather's enough to keep us going with that. Everything will be fine, I promise, so take notice of Auntie Maureen. Go and have a cuppa and a fag, get your shopping done early so you can come home and pamper yourself for a while before the babies arrive. You don't want them to see their mummy looking all harrassed and bedraggled now do you. I'll try VERY hard to get online when I'm away just to keep myself updated, but failing that it'll be tomorrow evening I think. Chin up xxx

When I used to hatch mine under a broody hen I used to check they were still alive by placing one egg at a time in warm, not hot water.
A tip from an elderly neighbour who was also my source of eggs.
After a few seconds if the chick is still alive the egg starts to rock and move gently in the water from side to side. As soon as I saw movement, I dried the egg off and it quickly went back under the hen.
It never failed - 100% success rate. They don't always hatch as expected and delays do occur - but if you know the chick is alive it takes away the stress.
Happy hatching - it's magical when they do break out.
thanks johnny ....i had a go, but only one moved so i guess there might still be a small glimmer of hope that one will come out ..... not sure if i feel better now or not
Cut a hole in a piece of cardboard big enough to rest on egg on but small enough not to allow the egg to fall through (very important!!!!!)
In a darkened room, place the egg you want to check on top of the cardboard and shine a powerful torch upwards underneath the egg.
You will be able to see the embryo inside. You can compare progress/ rate of growth / comparative size with all your eggs. Sometimes you can even see them moving in silhouette. If no embryo has formed or is very small at this stage of expectation you can act accordingly.
Only look at one egg at a time and make sure the time away from the incubator is as short as possible as the egg must not be allowed to get cold.
