Me too. Joined for a few months - easy to contact younger generation. De-faced myself (un-joined) after a while. You can't actually erase anything you put on. Never actually got round to putting much on and I detested all that being poked etc. At my time of life? With MY reputation!

If the younger generation want any money I haven't frittered away, they can jolly well contact ME!

    • Hashette, it's a group called...ermm...what is it called...lol...I'm a member of the grapevine forum. If you message me your facebook name I'll invite you, if I can work it out. I'm not super with facebook, but I use it to keep in touch with old school friends - family - etc. I hated it at first, but have to admit...I'm enjoying it now. Can't believe how many friends from school, old jobs, uni, etc that have contacted me...it's grrreeat!! Although, like you flummery...I hate the whole poking, and proding applications...so, I have them disabled!!

I want to choose when I'm poked, proded and the likes...and I'm not having anyone doing it willy nilly!
I love to talk about nothing. It's the only thing I know anything about!!

      • lol @ Lynda being kicked off of face party for being 'too old'. The ageist so and so...s!

Never mind, eh...when your chook cam site is up and running you can have us all join that - and create a chickbook. Minus the poking and age limits!

i have a nice guest book where you can leave me messages on the site, i really must get round to finishing it

i was most annoyed at face party, basically they chucked everyone off over the age of 40 and filled it with swearing

              • I'm with you on that one ladies - Facebook/Bebo/Myspace as my nephew has discovered, it can often just be an invitation to all the ignorant nutters/spammers/perverts who've nothing better to do. It's such a shame because it's obviously not how it was intended to work.

As for being 'too old' at over 40!

By the way, fingers still crossed re the eggs, and getting sore now.

                • Facebook/bebo/Myspace, etc...is like everything else. You have to use it with caution. I for one have had nothing but positive experiences with it - I've never been 'spammed'...never been stalked or had any negative experience with it at all. It's allowed me to keep in touch with lots of old friends/work collegues that I would never have met again without it.

But, I'm an adult (don't agree with kids using any of these sites unsupervised)...and I use it accordingly. I don't add people I don't know, and I have my privacy settings set to stop just anyone being able to access my profile. So, it's a wonderful 'tool' if you use it wisely...but, again...to each their own. If it's not for you...it's not for you. Lots of people wouldn't dream of using forums, etc.

Anyway, this was never meant to be a facebook thread...poor Lynda - hijacking her thread. Sorry. I wish I hadn't mentioned the dreaded FB!

                  • lol, it's ok ........ nothing happening on the eggy front lol ..... and will give those people with finger cramp chance to undo them for 5 mins

actually out of all of them Bebo is really really annoying, had loads of invites for there of people i probably spoke to once online ..... theres a box you can tick to get no more invites ....... doesn't work ...... i've no problem with the sites that leave me alone lol ...... theres just not enough hours in the day already.

                    • Lynda hon - I have everything very firmly crossed for you and the eggs still, dont give up hope just yet (not that I know what I'm talking about I'm afraid!) xxx

And re facebook - I'm on there, it helped me find some long lost friends and I find it useful for sharing photos with friends and family in other parts of the country, but I only log in maybe once a week and cant stand all that poking and the like! I've never had any problems with spammers and such but do have my privacy set to keep out those uninviteds. Still, I can totally understand the reticence of some people, I guess its a very personal thing.

Keep your chin up hon, we're rooting for you xxxx
Life may not be the party we hoped for but since we're here we might as well dance

                        • Excessive temp will kill chicks faster than low temp.

i know, i do think they are all dead, but as they have definitely grown i'm just giving them the slimmest chance, if i can save one it's worth it ....... if not, i'll get some more and try again....... at least i know now it's not entirely my fault.
