have you actually been outside today it's freezing, i'm staying in bed, with a brew and toast and the dog under the duvet keeping my feet warm and cleo keeping my right arm pit warm anyway, i'm sure they'll get on with it if i give them a hammer and a saw

Well actually yes, I have been outside today. I went out at crack of dawn in my dressing gown and wellies to let the chooks out for breakfast, cracked the ice on the top of their water bucket and topped it up with warm water. Made them some warm porridge, had a chat to them, then later on still in dressing gown and wellies went and collected a really cold egg. Got dressed now though

i think i might just stay in bed today and do some more on the web site, although i may have to go and get some cat food, and go to the post office, i haven't bothered feeding the fish today, there will be no sign of them unless it suddenly goes warm, so nope dressing gown is remaining firmly on ......

i still can't tell if the really dark egg has a chick in it, but the 4 are definitely still growing, so it's getting very exciting now ..... but 21 days is such a long time

mind you could be worse, could take 9 months.

It's that long ago and i can't be bothered to retrace the thread but it was 3 Ixworth eggs and 3 others wasn't it?
Just out of interest is it the Ixworths that you think are fertile or tuthers?

Getting eggs-citing (sic) now I bet? How long to go?

3 ixworths, and 3 aracuana's ...... 2 of the ixworths, and 2 aracuanas, but the 3rd is too dark to see through, it's really dark green, and seems like it may have a thicker shell than the other dark one so theres definitely 4 possibly 5 ...... today is day 13 so only 8 days to go definitely getting eggxciting just have to hope they hatch at the end of it ..... i'm crossing everything.

Number 3 came out of a dark egg that I left in the incubator for the same reason (I couldn't tell when candling) Remember to stop turning at 2 days to go and raise the humidity.
I am so excited for you, make sure the camera has batteries and you have plenty of coffee in.

i have just bought a big bag of 1000 tea bags, so all sorted ..... luckily i don't sleep much innit brooder lamp arrived yesterday, just waiting for food now,

i've left them all in the incubator, cos i don't trust my candling lol .... i'm nearly certain one has nothing in ..... but you know when you just don't want to trust yourself lol ..... hopefully it won't explode ...... can't wait now got extra rechargeables, and a 2gb card in the camera for videoing ..... so i think everythings just about ready.

Only 7 days to go now???

Oh my...I bet you're super excited (resisted the urge to use the old chestnut eggcited!).

Getting babies from your first attempt will be great....and after this you'll be a proper eggspert!! (Had to use something cheesy somewhere!!)
I love to talk about nothing. It's the only thing I know anything about!!
