    • Sorry for the delay in naming my chick, not been feeling too good but thats another story!

      I have asked Bride to help me make the final choice between the names on my shortlist, as I knew how disappointed she was not to be able to name one . I like the name Jasper (as you also expressed a preferance in Lynda) but we decided not to give it a boys name as we so hope she is a little girl . Therefore we have decided on:

      Neva

      which means "snow" which with all the wintery weather we have been having is quite appropriate!

      Do so hope you all approve.

            • lol, that's so cute he really has so much more character than the others (or maybe i just notice him more cos he was the first born) ..... he's definitely the norty one ....... i so hope he's a girl lol ...... *wonders what the law is on smuggling chickens to france ....... if he is a boy, i'm gonna do my absoulte best to keep him, or find him a home ....... but if he's a girl he's staying lol

                    • If they're getting their wing feathers already, watch for the tail feathers - the girls get them first (that's what someone else said on here). hope they're all girls The pictures are so cute!!!

                          • Poor poppy not at all impressed, chicks adorable, many thanks for pics, keep them coming.
                            Going to see my babies to-morrow (3wyandott-white) 5 weeks old also need to speak to him about getting some marans.
                            Ill have a word about sexing chicks and get back to you.

                                5 consonants & 1 vowel... They'd struggle with that on Countdown

                                If it's ok with you Lynda, stick with Elvira? (Elvis if male!) If it's too much of a mouthful when calling her for tea, I don't object to abbreviations
