          I would say.. and someone else migth correct me... I think a chick becomes a pullet once it is no longer dependent on its mum (about 8 weeks) and a pullet becomes a hen when it has laid its first egg, i.e. becomes sexually mature, which varies according to breed, and can be anything from 16 - 36 weeks.
