Lets face it - if the buggers that lay 'em like 'em they must be good!

No recent egg-eating to report - only loooovely fresh eggs.

My Dad had to put a dampener on it though, adding up the cost of the coop/fence/feed/feeders/feed bin/bedding/incidentals/fuel to collect them/bla bla bla, he said; "It makes them bloody expensive eggs!"

So I don't give him any!

we have noticed that as the ground is so wet here, the chooks get less access to the grass, the yolks of their eggs are less yellow...still yummy tho. Have been giving them greens cuttings instead.

It's amazing how much better they taste but probably because they are eaten as fresh as they come, whereas "down the road" they may be a week or two old. That would be my theory.

Glutton well done on sorting the egg eating, how did you do it?

Nicos sorry hun, but I'm 43 and my dad only recently retired.........

Spoke too soon - there was a partially eaten one in the coop this morning when I let them out. There's one Hen who is always last to come out in the morning, and today she refused. When I stuck my head in I found her 'tucking in'

Tomorrow I'm going to find a concoction that will hopefully put her off!

I can't flippin well decide what to put in, to be honest. So many people have told me Chooks like mustard, that I was going to go for Tabasco until someone else said they like hot stuff. Did think about Wasabi, but haven't got any until I go shopping, and I hate shopping, so have put it off!

Perhaps I'll go out there with a dozen little dishes and do a chook taste test!

My girls ate all the chillies off my chilli plants in the summer and there were quite a few so I don't think they mind a bit of hot!
