Blimey Lynda you are a glutton for punishment, perhaps you should change your name - Oh, sorry, someone else has already got that one!

It was very brave of you to open them and thanks for posting the pics, I just had to look. Anyway, I wish you the very best with this lot. Like everyone, I'll be checking in regularly.

Oh lynda - the chicks were lovely!! You were very very brave opening them up, and burying them is a lovely gesture.

Here's hoping your 'secret' eggs will hatch - you naughty thing!!

Here's hoping for the current batch of eggies then! I also didn't fancy a look at the pics but well done for trying. Silkies are lovely - do you know if they are black or white ones? (sorry, no time to wait for this steam-powered pooter to load the links)

I kind of hope one of ours will go broody in spring but hope they wait until we have built a bigger home with more than one nest box - we see the occasional queue for egg-laying now so never mind if one was sitting

thesilkies are a mix of gold white and partridge, so no idea what the 2 growing chicks will be ..... and i still have to get them to hatch yet ...... so still keeping fingers crossed

the new eggs i bought are .......... hatching eggs all crossed silkys, polish, leghorns, warrens, ixworth, stars and marans

so should be a nice selection as i bought 10 eggs this time

                          *smiles at the egg queue

Oh Lynda....I've got my eye on some Marans...but they're about twice the size of my pullets!!!! ( watching the other thread about introducing bigger chooks....)

                            Chocolate brown eggs....yum!

Ummmmm....this chook thing does sort of get a bit addictive doesn't it?????
