As I finally have a good sunny morning I went and bought 2 big bales of straw and set about giving the girls a proper clean out, which included scraping out the old wet, smelly straw that I had been laying in the run to keep them off the mud.
Shed all clean, with a nice thick layer of straw inside to keep them cosy at night, fussy b*tches didn't even go in and look, normally I'm tripping over them cos they come in to see what I'm doing. Just stood around the doorway throwing me dirty looks.
Ditto for run. Scraped out all the old straw and took 6 barrowloads (its a big run) to the heap that will be where the pumpkins are grown in spring, laid fresh new straw in the run so thay don't get wet feet. No interest in scratching through the straw and trying to make me fall over. They find a sunny corner, spread wings and go to sleep. Honestly!!
They got plenty scratchy when I lobbed a handful of corn in though.
Took a few pics, will put them on later.
