  • Mole hills...

Well, my chooks have found a wonderful use for them....dust bathing!
They were so mesmerized by the fun that they didn't leg it over to me when I took out their mash!
I really must put my camera in the jacket pocket for these funny moments!

Mole Hills also make superb topsoil, or for adding to homemade compost mixes. All turned over and crumbly.

Nicos,my chooks do the same with molehills-it's hilarious-nearly as funny as the time my rather large friend was sitting on a chair whose leg disappeared down a mole tunnel in the middle of a barbecue

As you say rusty.......fine mixed with compost, but not on there own. I know someone who went around gathering mole hill soil and filled his raised bed with it. Planted leeks in it and then the rains came, followed by sunshine. He had to chisel the leeks out of soil like concrete!

Yes Nicos, keep that camera in your pocket and post the pics on here.
