    depends, you can buy solar oxygenaters and with those straw things you might get away with once a year if its big enough, i cant picture what 2000 gallons looks like.
    you can wait in summer for it to get very low and then clean it, but its nice to give them somthing to use in the mean time.

      One pond is 215x170x65cm the other is 205x135x60 so they are pretty big, after I posted and was mulling ti over I thought I could get a batter / petrol generator to empty them so it wouldn't be too traumatic. Great for watering the veggies I should imagine

        When I was little our ducks used to splash about in my old baby bath - no pond - probably not an ideal situation but you could give them one while you emptied out their pond to clean it!

          I might keep the two ponds separate rather than join them then I can empty one at a time so they will always have one for playing in I'm soooo excited my brother is buying them for me as a wedding present so I've got till March to build them the perfect enclosure.

                      Congratualtions to both of you! Ducks for wedding present - I remember my husbands friend buyer me a very expensive grooming box full of brushes (horsey things) for our wedding!

                        The big day is 30th March so not far off really got some serious organising to get done before then though

                        Bad timing really right in the middle of prime allotment planting might have to have honeymoon on the plot !!!

                            waffler and elmo, congrats, bob and i tying the knot in june, our honeymoon will be on the lottie, due to being poor and having livestock to lookafter, we'll take a tent tho, so it'll be like a real holiday.
