  • Update on Babs

Well I dunno if it was anything I did or not but yesterday she came outside for the first time with the rest of the girls and scrabbled around the stables and is now even one of the first to get pecking at my boots this morning.

So, I still have 13 brownies, wonder what they'll think of the 12 snowys

I like your choice of chooks!!
If it's raining and dark you'll be able to see the white ones...and if it snows you'll be able to see the brown ones!!!

    Glad Babs has recovered!

Good to hear. These little ex-batts are so precarious health-wise that it's always a worry when they look off-colour. It seems to be a different one each week with my lot! Think they've got PMT. One did go properly broody a couple of months ago - having hidden a clutch of 11 eggs in a hedge she settled herself in a nest box and waited to be hand-fed for over a month! Problem is she now expects hand feeding all the time! Needless to say she gets it!

Lol, mind you if they're oven-readies then they'll not be white white until the snow has gone
