Okay, thought they got bigger with practice!!

Well, here is the one I found today - Madmax and Aranthos thought I had 'planted' a Cadbury mini egg in the henhouse..... once again an egg from Flymo and also a beer bottle cap for size reference

I've just looked up that a quail egg is 10g!!!...so your egg is half the size/weight of a quail egg???

Aww, bless. Surely things can only go uphill from here? You were lucky to find it, I think if it had been laid in my girls nest box it would have awol amongst the wood shavings!

They have woodshavings in the nest box and newspaper on the floor (it is only a cupboard and easier to keep that way). The 'egg' was on the floor so easy to spot on the paper. Hope the next one is bigger.

Got three proper size eggs today too and have been getting an average of 2 lately so it is looking better.
