  • Jenny Hen has died - I'd like to kill the *****'s

    I'm sad and I've just got to tell some people who will appreciate this ... last week we got burgled - ramraided in fact. Someone has rammed the gates with a transit van, then rammed the garage doors and have taken my tractor mower, my rotovator, the lovely chainsaw, all of our power tools and, well £6000's worth of kit.

    Worse than any of that Jenny Hen took fright and started to sink. The raid was Weds, she was off colour Thurs, Fri am she was rushed to the vets who tried fluids, antibiotics and anti-inflamms (the vets answer to everything!) but poor Jenny Hen died Friday evening.

    I'm so upset. We've only had the girls for 10 weeks but Jenny was my favourite little lass, The first to come running up and the most faithful when 'helping' me in the garden. Why did she have to die? I know I'm probably projecting some of my upset about the burglary onto the chicken situation but I've bawled myself stupid all weekend.

    The burglars are just baszards (or some word similar) and they killed my hen. Unforgivable. May they rot in hell and live to feel the slow, agonising pain of rotting!

    Thank you for listening.
    Cheers

    T-lady

    I'm so sorry T-lady. The theft is bad but to loose a pet is worse. I don't know why people can't keep their thieving hands off other peoples property.

      I'm so sorry T lady. The people who do these things are despicable. I just try to look at them with pity for their mean and miserable lives. Anything else is to let them make you as mean as them.
      Try to just carry on with your own lovely life. I do hope they catch the culprits and lock them up for a while. Hope you feel a bit better soon. Thinking about you.

          That's so true. I'm so sorry to hear about Jenny, it's so sad when one of your "ladies" dies, but in these circumstances it's absolutely unforgivable

            Try to beleive in karma - there is a character in The Water Babies - Mrs Do-as-you-would-be-done-by, and another Mrs. Be-done-by-as-you-did. I know, silly children's book but I really think that people who do bad, get bad, in one way or another. It's been a bad day on the vine for loved pets being taken but I hope the virtual hugs help...

            and here's one from me hun {{{{hugs}}}}

                  Sorry to hear your sad news, made even worse because of the circumstances. If these thieving toe rags ram raided your property that probably means that a few hours earlier some poor sod had their van nicked. Don't suppose they'd use their own van to smash through gates and garage doors.
                  It is the doom of man, that they forget.

                      Poor little hen. All the rest of the story is bad enough but to frighten a hen to death - I have heard of it before, they are so sensitive, which is more than can be said for the perps.

                            So sorry to hear your bad news... that's really awful. When a pine marten killed most of my hens last year, one of my favourites took a heart attack and died in fright. She was the first one I found.

                            Warmest thoughts are going out to you... I know it's hard to do, but try not to get tangled up in anger and resentment. It will only make you feel worse and it won't bring back Jenny Hen. Hope your gear turns up soon *hugs*
