When I'm cleaning the coop out I used to slide the pop hole door shut to keep the chooks out (don't do it anymore)
Forgot to open it again once so the chooks spent the night under the stars. Luckily it was still summer so no harm done!

My run is fully enclosed so I now just prop the pop hole sliding door against the hole on an evening to keep the draught out. In the morning the chooks knock it over and come out into the run.
When cleaning out coop now I just put a board across pop hole inside, that way if I forget to take it away, once evening comes they will just knock it over and get in!

You've got them well trained Snadger All you need to do now is teach them how to turn the tap on, fill up their food container, put the kettle on and make you a cuppa ready for when you get there
My girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there
