i know hilary ..... which is why she definitely won't be having any ..... however much i'd love to have her babies ....... i made that mistake once many years ago, letting one of my cats have kittens, ended up with 6 ...... and as lovely as it was ..... 6 more kittens in the world is 6 too many ......... my mum lives in spain and has a feral cat, well she did ..... she now has 5, and shes pregnant again (the cat not my mum) thankfully the cat will come in the house now, so she can catch her and the kitties after they are born, and get them done (the first lot have been done already) ..... but it can turn into a nightmare, her neighbour has 27 ferals ..... there is a charity just been set up for nutering in their area, so they are gatting as many done as they can catch ..... but it does make you realise how out of hand it can get..... in a very short time.

I always neuter all my cats BEFORE they're allowed out in to the big bad world. It's too easy for them to be 'caught' - and they can be caught every couple of weeks. Which is scary!

yeah thats one of the things on my list asbo was done before he was allowed out, but was much more difficult when you get a kitten, who wants to follow her big brother out and can't understand why she cant go out with him, so i let her out

just on 5-6 months is the norm for a queen to come into season, 6 months is the normal age to get a queen neutered, it can help stop them turning into the cat from hell LOL

My daughter's cat has just turned 6 months old while she was away for a week. my daughter put a beautiful little kitten into the kennels and returned to a teenager from hell who is now displaying my daughters 2 year old boxer dog! lol Guess where the cat is off to as soon as they can get an appointment! The dog has from day one been as soft as anything with the cat who from almost day one mad it clear that she was boss, by sleeping in his bed and eating his food as well as her own!

Alfie wanted to follow the other two out almost immediately, but we were wise to him and turned the magnetic cat flap around so they needed the magnetic key to get OUT. Poor Alfie didn't have his own magnetic key, so he was stuck in. He used to scrape at the flap like a maniac, but I was determined not to allow it. He did escape a couple of times, and came back looking shell shocked (usually before we noticed he'd even gone), but we were good all in all. He got his own key to the door when he was castrated.

Bit like on my space then! Use the pic code. I thought of that but did not think it would work on here! I'm still finding things out about this forum.

                        Thanks Lynda!

we had a magnetic flap, but it cost a fortune keep replacing the keys ( 4 cats 2 that take collars off) so we used to lock it onto In only, that worked for a week till they figured they could hook up the flap inwards and get out, so we locked it and they had to ask to go out, until the dog saw another dog through it and went straight through it, breaking the door AND the catch, now doors are easy, i have an online contact for replacements doors, he has done it at least 5 times, but now the catch is broken i need a whole new unit, and because they are different sizes, i HAVE to get a magnetic one again so it fits, even though i have to take the magnet unit out
might be cheaper just to get a new front door.

Sorry Lynda but now I'm feeling a bit thick!

I can't find where they have hidden the [img]link[/img] on here to put the picture code into. If I could find that then I'd be ok! I have looked on here under manage attachments, its not there! If I use the insert link button on the tool bar on the message pad where we compose our messages that brings up the link for the http:// ie where we add a web sight address. I'm lost now!
Thanks for your help though I'm sure i'l get ther in the end!

you can just type it the way you have there and type the url in where you have 'link' you dont need their version, its BBCode it will be recognised even if you just type it in, same as the smilies, you can type the code if you know it rather than use the lil pics.

EG: [img] opens the code, then you add the full url of the pic, then [/img] closes the code

or if you use the insert link button, just paste the link into that bar, making sure you DELETE where it says http:// so that doesn't go in twice.
