  • Banty unable to stand up

We have a banty cock who is unable to stand, there doesn't seem to be any grip in his claws either. He's eating well and otherwise looks fine - any ideas?

He might be in pain even if he looks fine - chickens hide their symptoms really well. Did he have any accident that you know of? Sounds like it's a vet job to me...

We are not aware that he has had an accident - however, thanks for the advice Birdie Wife, perhaps the vet is the answer.

I'd second that - loss of mobility is always something I'd take to the vets. You never quite know what's going on when they are unable to use their legs - could be injury, or neurological, or muscular....or...or...or....

Go to the vets - it can be his Xmas pressie!
I love to talk about nothing. It's the only thing I know anything about!!
