Minus Thunderbird, found under the apple tree this evening. Had been on a course of antibiotics, but it didn't do the trick. Not sure what was wrong, the vet could say. RIP Thunderbird, you will be missed.
Due to our "we are just going to LOOK" visit at the auction we now have...........
A beautiful 8 month (ish) Minorca hen and 3 Pekin Banty chicks, one millefleur, one blue and one salmon!
Good choice Munch, I was there too and like all those chooks you bought. I bought some eggs, a present for my broody brahma! Bantam Orps x silkies. I was a bit cross though because I bought 12 and assumed there were 12, but when I got them home there were 11 I wonder if somebody wanted one egg?
Oh well done - you found somewhere to get them then! Is it a Copper blue Marans? I've got some copper blues and copper blacks I hatched!
Well I don't know much abouts breeds but they are hybrids and the blue one looks like a Bluebell but I think true Bluebells have to come from a particular strain and the Sussex rock is also known as a reverse Sussex. Black with silvery white feathers around her neck. They are supposed to be 18 weeks old but combs are very small. Saw them advertised at food suppliers in New Forest but they were driven down from farm in Winchester so I didn't get to choose actual birds myself only the breeds. Took a risk but they seem healthy. My Speckleldy wants to get them through the wire but the Blue Rock seems able to take care of herself. The other one is more nervous.
