One of our rescue hens has been a bit under the weather for the last week or so and now, sadly, is no more.

I've had one lonely hen for a couple of months now as I decided not to replace the girls as they died. However have just been given a hen that was also lonely having survived a fox attack. So far so good!

RIP Yellow chicken. Something took her overnight a couple of days ago. Looks too clean a kill to be a fox so not sure what else it could have been.

Got 2 polish bantams, Cruella and Heather 6/7 months old.. was due to pick up 2 ex batts on the 14th but rehoming has been cancelled due to bird flu

We lost our lovely speckledy Agatha in January, but adopted three feisty rescue hens in March. They're absolutely loving it here, have feathered in very nicely, and are very reliable layers! They're also quite tame, and have followed us back into the kitchen on occasion!
