OK - well i havent updated this in a while, got rid of a load of birds when we moved to wale, so i shall deduct my original 145 birds i had at the time of moving completly, then add in the ones i have now - so 2335 - 145 = 2190.
to this add:
Marsh Daisy (4)
LS bantams (3)
Black Orpington Bantams (5)
Chocolate Orpingtons (3)
Dorking (3)
Indian Game (2)
Millefleur Barbu D'Uccle (12)
Quail Barbu D'Anvers (3)

Total Number of "chickens" = 120 so the runnig total is now 2190 + 120 = 2310
if only i could add non chickens such as turkeys, ducks, peacocks, quail and guinea fowl we woudl be able to add in another 63 birds!
2311, I lost my little ex batt freddie today, she had battled with a prolasped egg, which before christmas we thought we had conquered and she had started to pick up again.
However over the last week she became very frail and the antibiotics didnt seem to do any good, she was drinking but seemed to dribble it back out again, eating rice so I thought it must be a good sign
But alas it wasnt to be and she went quietly (I hope) in our garage last night - tucked up in a bed of hay and a small heater giving her a little warmth.
She was free of her cage for 12 months and a wonderful layer.
Sorry to hear that Tick. I always get a lump in my throat when it's ex-batts who go as they have such sh...y lives before release I feel they deserve so much more once out. At least your girl had as much time free as she did in the cages and a lovely life as well.
RIP little one x
2308 - Pair pekins and one silkin rehomed with a lovely lady and her young blue fawn whippet last week - I hope she enjoys having them around as much as I have!
