Its OK. I lost 40% of my breeding flock (I'm VERY small scale) but the remaining birds seem ok. On the bright side, somehow miraculously, I still have hens from 3 different lines, and cocks from 2 different lines, so can mix and match a bit.Comment

Freedom is pretty scary atm G4. Poor tufty spent a lot of time in her box, facing away from the doorway, and some time standing in the doorway eating what grass she could reach without stepping out! Two of the others took turns sitting on a rock in the corner, facing a sheet of tin.
I guess sometimes, life is more than you can cope with.
Tufty was still ripping feathers out when stressed (her own.) So should be a while before she has a full complement.
Hoping they all start to be friends soon. Would love to see them all pottering around the chook forest together.Ali

2634 - Delilah got eaten last night, don't know how she was out when we went to lock up. But a fox must have taken her. Either just before we went down or later. She didn't get much of a life poor bird.
