    • Hi all, I'm still just finding my way around on this forum, just found this page so now I can introduce my flock. We have 1 chocolate maran,Coco, one cream legbar, Mo, a leghorn, Foggy, a plymouth rock, Gin, a warren, LC, two new warren chicks and two cherry valley ducks, crispy and pancake all housed in an eglu, (the big one) with a large run but they do free range around the garden when we are about, lovely eggs, duck ones are fantastic and big. cheers everyone.

      • That's seven Chooks, Duckdad, added to the 2644 makes a new total of 2651.

        (Ducks don't count, sorry!)

        • 2649 - sadly a two legged thief has made off with two Orpingtons. Unbelievable, in obsessing on foxes and everything else had not even considered humans! Be a while before get more to add to the flock numbers.

          • Have you let the police know Caldon - you must be very upset. We have a german shepherd who will eat people who go near the chickens, very probably......
2649 plus 3 black bantam thuringians - very rare and will be entered in the national this year. Stunning. the male is called Satan. guess upon his temperament................2652

            • Yeah, police were actually very good, carried out a door to door and publicised it through social media. I had expected them to laugh it off. Can't get a dog (or geese or ducks) so getting back garden secure before source more chicks. Had Orpingtons so thinking of getting exbats as a nice thing to do and less 'desirable' for potential thieves.

                • 2652 + our 3 new chickens = 2655.

We have Henrietta - a Sussex; Pepper - a Speckled Star (cross between Barred Plymouth Rock and Rhode Island Red) and Thunder - a Black Star.

                              • 2659 minus Holly and ginger who died from a combination of old age and regrettably an outbreak of redmite where they were insisting of sitting on non existent eggs- all my fault - I need to be firmer with breaking broodies- but how could the red mite population escalate into the zillions in just one week whilst I was away leading trip???!!!! 2657
