I got 3 Isa browns this morning - not batties, but ex commercial free rangers. Out and about in the dirt, and retired to the Fair-Lea Feral Farm. 2866 + 3 = 2869.

Plus the two baby chooks, Australorpe x's this afternoon 2869 + 2 = 2871.

I do hope that they all make friends tomorrow. Frank was extremely distressed this morning when he figured out there were some more hens around but he couldn't find them.

Put them all up together on the roosts tonight and hoping they wake up and find they have new friends in the morning....Im off to work so will be son's job to referee, and he's such a softy, he'll probably have the two young un's in the bathtub again by the time I get back.

We have 160, mainly rare breeds inc. brahmas, pekins, Sussex, australorps, new hampshires and a few ex layers for good measure. A beautiful mix of colours

So 2871+160=3031

Add our 4 ( arucuana ,bluebell,maran ,legbar) and 3 new girls: black Sussex ,barnvelder and white star. They have just started to lay tiny eggs and are settling in well. Will mix them for the first time on Friday after 3 weeks of separation. Can't imagine I will get a lot done as I will obviously need to 'keep checking' all is well and gaze at them a bit!!
