So sorry to hear about you losing 2 of your girls Hayley, nice that they had a year of freedom to be proper chickens though
And, one of my new chicks died this afternoon Haven't a clue why really. It suddenly started going into some sort of spasm, body all twisted and head thrown right back. I cuddled it to keep it warm and cosy, and it seemed contented like that for a little while. It didn't seem to be in any pain, but I knew it wasn't going to make it. I couldn't kill it so I just nursed it till it slipped away. I'm panicking about the others now 
I have to keep going to make sure they're ok

At least she'd had a year of freedom during which time she managed to make the most of free-ranging, and hopefully to forget her year of hell. RIP Chooky.

Oh dear 1487-2 =1485
moved my latest hatch (the RIR and cochins) up to the buildings this last week and two of the cochins went super quiet, then died. The others are all fine, bouncy and eating well, so guess it was stress or they were abit weaker or something. Dont know wether to cry or laugh as they were two that were really looking like boys.
