awwwww it looks just like pingu ...... but he hasn't developed the white feathering at all,and didn't have a white spot...... the other 2 girls have, though one is definitely all maran, well by the colouring it is, the other isn't all maran colouring, but close .......the 4 black ones were all maran sizes/coloured eggs, so definitely at least half maran ..... but pingu is all black, with white on his neck, like a light sussex, but the other way round

so as the possible crossings are silkys, polish, leghorns, warrens, ixworth, stars and marans....... i have no idea what his daddy is ...... i'm still hoping he might be a girl, as he has all his feathers now, and theres 3 still without them all, and he has black legs.

the only thing you can do if they are boys is have their danglies removed before they reach maturity, but apparently getting a vet to do it is hard, their bits are inside.... and it's expensive, and you can't get a voucher for spaying chooks lol

they've been out in the garden today, and i've been having a close look, i think coco and buttercup are definitely boys ....... they have huuuugggggeee legs, and their combs are definitely bigger than the others, and they are about twice the size of the others too.

i think i can probably eat those two ...... but pingu ..... never.

Oh noooo...you couldn't eat that. It's adorable!! You'll need to just keep him in a cock box, and be done with it. Litter train him, and then it won't be as much of a problem, as you can keep him indoors full time!

i've been trying to work out how you litter train a chook, and the conclusion is ...... it ain't gonna happen lol, maybe just having one inside won't be too smelly?? ..... though can just imagine kim and aggie(how clean is your house) coming round and having kittens

Yeah, maybe keeping him indoors won't be a great idea. You should just work out how to make a cock box - then he won't crow until later, and hopefully that'll limit the neighbour complaints.
