  • Finally 4 birds - 4 eggs

Finnaly we had been builing up to 2 a day then 3 a day then yesterday we got 4!!!. Only had the girls since October

Unless can chooks lay more then one a day?

I think they lay 1 every 25 or so hours, so no, they don't (usually) lay more than 1 a day
My girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there

I was getting 3 or 4 a day from 8 Hens. Then got 8 more and the count went up to 6 or 7 a day. I think they're settled in now, as I got 10 today.

I had 7 eggs on Thursday, 10 yesterday, and 7 so far this morning, from 16 hens, so someone's laying every day.

More layers mash/pellets, fewer treats and a longer day seems to have made a difference.

Off in a min to make some signs for the end of the lane so they can start paying for themselves!
