sorry folks, i probably stressing over this but my girls poo is a bit loose more 'sloppy' than firm do you think its just the change of home for them and the stress of the journey - i brought the same layer pellets they were being fed so as not to change their diet immediately and have only fed them that which they are eating and they seem to be drinking plenty. I cant beleive i'm so stressed about this chicken keeping lark, i got up in the middle of the night to make sure that everything was ok and was up really early this morning and even came home from a shopping trip when OH had offered to buy lunch...... no i said i need to check the girls are OK

I'm new to this chook-keeping too, but I don't think any of mine do two poos the same.
They will settle after a few days in their new surroundings. Don't forget, whilst they only have small brains, like most animals they will pick up on your nervousness.
Try to relax and enjoy them! All the best - Glutton 4 Punishment

i made the fatal mistake of letting my babies have a run round the living room while i cleaned them out before ...... i never noticed em pooing 'that' much before ...... anyway there were about 8 poos, and every one was different ...... there is now a lovely smell of disinfectant coming from my carpet ....... next time they can run round the hallway, i can wash that

It could be the change of water too. When I used to breed dogs I always gave a large container of our tap water to new owners and never had any probs. They probably didn't have treats before you had them too so another reason for diferent poo. Just look on it as different rather than runny!

I know what you mean with the poo thing. I was just the same when I got mine. Unfortunately it was the same week my OH and Bambina both had a tummy bug - there was a definate poo theme to my week that week. LOL
I had a thread about poo's a couple of weeks back. One of my chooks started doing Frothy Liquid poos, not at all in the realms of normal but so many people had really helpful and honest advice that it soon got sorted. Turns out it was worms and something called Myoplasm (I think) and easily sorted. Everyone is lovely and will always try to help you - you'll soon start to feel more relaxed, honest.
