My lot are about to see a covering of white on the garden for the first time, this should be interesting. What's the betting they think it's food? Maybe some new kind of poultry spice?

All mine took one look through the pophole this morning and started to think better of coming out, till one of the ones at the back pushed the front ones out It was so funny to watch. My first ex-batts have seen snow before but I don't think any of the others have. They're quite happy now running around in it, and at least I can see where the poo dollops are so I don't tread them back into the house (as usually happens, hence having chicken-shoes and slippers at the door)My girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there

Lol at the poo dollops being trodden back into the house - me and the OH both have chicken shoes outside the door, although putting them on barefoot in a dressing gown this morning wasn't much fun!
I shut mine in the run for the first hour as it's a worming day and I wanted to make sure they all got a beak-full of that first. When I eventually let them out it was a case of put a tentative foot in it; peck at it; taste it; look unimpressed; peck at it a bit more - then back into the run PDQ for some more breakfast. Who says they've not got much sense!
They seem much happier now the wind has died down and the sun has come out

I HATE SNOW..........
I didn't get out of bed after my first look out of the window, made DD go out and feed. When I came out of my bear-hole I left the nags in as too dangerous to make them walk across the yard, let the girls and they had a whale of a time, footprints everywhereHayley B

You could pop one of the Christmas cards in there so they get the general idea without the feel?
