Info on how to keep quail?

Does anyone have any idea how to keep these little birds,will they be allright outside in our disused rabbit hutch or are they better inside, what are they fed on & where can I get some in the Bedfordshire area ?

Lovely little birds - there was a HUGE article about them in PP recently. I was considering getting some myself, easy little birds to look after.

I have quail, they are very happy outside in all weathers, and do not go inside in the low temperatures, they will live with chickens happily in an enclosed run (with mesh buried as they can dig). They are very easy to look after but very funny to watch. You can buy quail mix from good stockists or mix your own. I know the pet store Jollyes sell quail but other than that I would try hatching them.

they live with budgies too, great for keeping the bottom of aviaries clean
