Two days ago while cleaning one of the hen houses out, I stuck my head in the door, not knowing that there was a hen in, until it pecked me in the eye. Stop laughing. I now have to wear a patch and put eye drops in every three hours. I thought the doctor was going to fall off his chair.
lol that brings up the time my dog was happly laying on the grass and one of my hens did that to him ,lucky i was ther within a split second i grabed my dog as he was about to take revenge ( would of been a blood bath ) But now his fine with them just moves when they come close. His a collie im shocked he still puts up with them saying that hes always licking his lips around them .

I have several who sit on my lap for a cuddle. My Dad warned me that they will peck eyes - and I didn't believe him!

I'd wondered if they would peck at my eye- when I bend down to check for eggs they rush up to see if I have food in my hand - and we are often at eye-eye level
