think they will be ok, if they have food and water in easy reach i'm sure they will sit for a few more days, and being so cold they won't leave the babies for long.

awwww, not the wooden one then I'm sure Bertha and Pheasant will share their duties and as long as there are unhatched eggs they will sit on them.

Urmmm...you think I'm worrying to much then ( as usual????)
It is hard to say how they will be. Our banties used to sit for what seemed like an eternity. They seem to instinctively know when to give up sitting. I would say keep watching and when first hen gives up waiting for eggs to hatch stick any leftovers under the next hen and so on. They always wait a good few days after the first chick comes out anyhoo and return to the nest frequently when they do start going off to eat.

Hi This is My broody coop - home made.... the other chooks are free rangeing but if you have a run this sort of set up could be put inside the run so they remember her,

This girl sat too tight for the first week and we had to take her off the nest for food, water (which we also put a small dish of near the nest), and a poo, Broodies do one big very smelly one /day so if you can encourage her to do it away from the nest so much the better. Having ruffled the grumpy girls feathers she was a little reluctant to go back on the nest the first couple of times but I just shut her in the nest for a few minutes and she'd calm down and settle back on.

Anyway I gather yours would be due about now? Any luck?....

Just got back and opened the coop to the sound of a chick 'chicking'!!!!- Mum let me take the egg to check it out and there's a small hole about 3mm across and a little beak moving around behind it!!!!!YEY!!!!!!

                  - didn't want to disturb her too much in case the other two were starting...BUT- Pheasant had nicked one of this batch - so I did a quick swap so I know Bertha has 2 of hers for sure under her...I'll check again later!

                  ...this is SOOooooo exciting!!!!!!!
