As I was trying to take a photo of the brown one, it kept trying to jump on mum's back!!! (what is it with piggy backs????....is it cos they're in a converted pigsty!!???)

This one is much more lively than the yellow one was at one day old- ....Sooo sweet!
Betty (mum) is due to hatch another 4 this weekend -ish!

Nope...going to see what they all look like...there are about 10 more eggs due to hatch....and will think about it then!

Update.....had a new babe on Sunday morning....yellow coloured
Other 3 eggs due any second are definately live this morning- with a gentle shake they started moving inside the shell!

Beyond cute! The first one is definitely getting chicken shaped wings and tail now, instead of just being a mound of fluff. Don't they grow fast?

Just been out for a few hours- and was met by the farmers wife who wanted to check on the eggs for me!!!!

So...she said the ones Betty was sitting on will now not be viable....so she started cracking them open on a rock

Guess what?- she was right...all yolk filled.
So we moved on to the girls together to check their eggs....and guess what we found???? A yellow chick- just drying off!!!!!!

So that leaves 5 eggs between the 2 gals..she's coming back on Friday to check them. Oh it's so wonderful having a midwife to hand twice a week!!!!

I'll go and get some more piccies this afternoon
So...a total of 4 babes at the moment...3 yellow and one chocolate with yellow spots.

Oh Nicos, they are so lovely - you must be one proud Grandma! They've perked up my little daughter too, who is currently feeling poorly in her own 'nest' in the kitchen, so thank you
