Hi guys, las I heard they had rehomed them. Little Hen are taking just 150, so all those have homes. Though if we're easier to get to for some of you (just south of Norwich) we'll have a couple of thousand hopefully at the end of the month!

Thanks Noodle. At least the suspense it over. Unfortunately you're a 4hr round trip for me. All the best at finding new homes for all of them and crosses fingers, toes and anything else I can that they go to GOOD homes!

You never know, someone might pull out and you could be next on the list!
IT's such a waiting game! Here we are 19th January and the farmer won't give us a date for our big rehoming, but 'garentees' it will be January!

Apparently Hen rehomers did have homes at the end of last week, so you may be in luck. Have you heard anything?

Getting 4. If it have been at the end Feb, I could've got more.... OH already starting to say not too many!!! Howver, she's a softie and I'm sure will fall in love with them Then It'll be her pushing me to get more....

Quick question though, will it be distressing for my 4yr old daughter to go with me? never been to a rescue centre so have no idea what to expect

Haven't been to a rescue with a 4 year old, but have done with a 9 year old. She's very sensitive and gets upset easily and yes, it was distressing for her to see so many scared chooks, but when she remembered that they'd actually been rescued and were all going to lovely new homes she was fine with it. It all depends on the temperament and understanding of your 4 year old. Good luck

Not at all. When we got our girls (from Henry Homers too) they were in a huge pen in someone's back garden, it was just a case of bring your pet carriers and see who chooses you! We met some great people, had a lovely afternoon, and knowing that they all had homes allocated, it's not as if we were worried about the ones we didn't take home

We have children of all ages coming along to choose their hens so I would say it will be fine. Parents tend to spend some time explaining what's happened to the younger children, so they understand. I've never seen a child get upset, most are just really interested! We had a little girl who must have been 4 or 5 who went into a stable and chose hers! (with our help of course!)
Oh and congratulations! Glad you got some on this rescue!

Thanks all for the advice... I'm gonna take my daughter with.

The Chicken house is all ready too!!! came a day early!

Can you crush layers pellets? They advise on mash but would like to get them onto pellets in the end. So If I can crush them, would this be ok? Sorry for all the questions lol but wann get it right!
