    Some people recommend scattering the grit rather than serving it in bowls, so they will scratch it up and take it then. More natural to them. If you aren't giving oyster grit for the calcium (which they may or may not take) you can try a sprinkling of limestone flour (from farm/horsey places) over the food - just a teaspoon a day. You could add a tsp cod liver oil first (it's a good tonic) and stir it round to make the food sticky - then the flour adheres to it.
