What a horrible horrible day this has been for you and your family......It's really sad!

Poor little things! I know it's just instinct with the fox...but I really hate that they have to kill for no reason!
I love to talk about nothing. It's the only thing I know anything about!!

Don't really know what to say except that I was sorry to hear your sad news. I do hope that your daughter will not be to upset when she gets back from school. Can't think of any words that might soften the blow.

sorry to read this , foxes are so very persistent when they find chook runs, and the cold snap is bringing them in looking for food.

So sorry for you...I know how I felt when our favorelles got taken.

If it's any solace at all (which I doubt it will be!) I took the rifle with me when I made an extra check after reading your news. I couldn't believe it; a damn great vixen trying to get under the fence, chickens going mental. i shouted to try and get the vixen to look. Luckily (for me) she did, presenting an easy shot at her. End result; all chickens alive, 1 fox less to worry about!!

See...why did you post that Alastair...now I feel sorry for the vixen!! What if she had babies??

I am such a softy - I don't believe in removing a life....whether it be chicken, fox or spider!

I know, I know...I'm soft, but it's just my belief system, I suppose.

This is awful news, I am so sorry.

I get just as upset when the neighbourhood cats kill all the baby blue tits on our site. Every single one, then just leave the bodies on the ground.
