They look lovely! Well done! Great seeing them outside for the first time in their lives. Soon they'll be following you round the garden (and in the house...) bit like a chickiny Pied Piper

Aaaaawwwwwww, sweeties, fancy getting given an eglu eh, that was a bit of a result. It's amazing how they do come around and I've found the brown Warrens are more friendly than the white Amber Links who are quite snobby. We've also got an insight into your eating habits as well going by the names

Noodle may be the most feather bare, however, she was first to eat and drink and although early days, she seems to "Rule the Roost"

Lovely girls and a wonderful free gift - wish I knew the people you know!

They'll settle in ever so quickly with the love you're giving them. Keep oggling them at every opportunity, it's therapeutic!

                  You've shown me yours so...

I thought I would post my girls here!

I picked mine up on saturday night from Poole. I'm very happy with my coop but even if I sold the eggs they'd have some work cut out to pay for the materials!

Two have started to eat well, the others are still a little mad. Plenty of eggs, the shells are very weak so I've put more oyster grit around (Its going to take them a very very long time to get through the 25 Kilos I mistakenly brought!)

One question, they dont know how to use thier stick/ladder/ramp. They stand at the top and jump down then I have to put them away at night by hand. Any ideas? is it too steep?

                  Cheers,
                  Sam

Lovely set-up Farmer Barnes! It might be a bit steep, and maybe a bit narrow too. We're going for a similar idea - we have bought the house but are going to set it on a platform about 18" up to give us a sheltered area underneath. I think they'd be happier with something less scary! How many did you get?

Thankyou very much, I must admit Im rather proud of it now. Worth all the splinters, flattened fingers, confusion, digging and balancing!

I opted for 5 in the end, Its a nice number to start with (when looking for them round the garden!) will probably get some more next time.

                        -They sure are good fun

I'll continue giving them a hand and start on the MK2 access ramp. Maybe they'll get they're heads round it by then.

Mega job Farmer Barnes, well posh.

The chooks will learn to use a ladder but as said it does need to be wider.

                          Enjoy

So proud of my girls, they put themselves to bed tonight

                                ...cleaver aren't they!!!...and so sweet!!!

Mine free range and start to get nearer to their coop as bedtime approaches. As we have foxes I feel embarrassed if they are in bed when I get to them- cos if their body clock says bedtime- then the foxes will be thinking ..Breakfast!!!!!

                                - therefore I'm late and put them at risk!Yours of course will be fine!

                                I LOVE my chooks!!!!
