dear all, as you know I keep worrying about the housing for our birds. The actual coop is 28''x22'' It is advertised as suitable for 3/4. We plan on 3 but is this OK? It has no nest box or perches and, try as i might, with all the great advice I've been given, I can't seem to figure out how i'm going to fit them in. The nest box I can sort out but the perches will have to be above the box, and I know this is not ideal. Are they essential? Please, any advice will be greatly appreciated as i don't want to get it 'wrong'

Perches are best if they are above the nest box. The birds like to roost high up so they'll sleep in the nest box if it's higher. I would think if the birds aren't massive (great chunky Buff Orpingtons for example) then 3 should be fine. They reckon a minimum of 1 sq ft. in the house.Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.
