My husband found Sunshine dead in the coop when he opened up this morning. She has been moulting and didn't seem to be taking it as badly as Mrs Brown did when she moulted. She was still eating and drinking although did stand around doing nothing a lot of the time too. I already had a vets appt booked for 3.30pm so will go anyway and have another couple checked out to made sure it was nothing catching. Sunshine is the first of my ex-batts to die. I got them all at the beginning of last May and hoped so much to make it the full year.

Oh dear, it's so sad when you lose one, but think about the lovely life you gave her. She had the chance to live like a proper happy hen, eat grass, feel wind and rain, see sky, spread her wings, and behave normally. I hope the others are ok, I'm sure they will be xxxMy girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there

Really really sorry to hear about Sunshine as I'm sure she was a little ray of sunshine. I know how I felt last week when my girl died so every sympathy. I'm sure you'll find the others are ok. I have lost 2 this way now and I think it's just the way they go. She's had a lovely time out of the cage and you can remember that and the good times she's had.
