I scramble any suspect eggs, mix with pellets and feed back to chooks. One minute in microwave and it's much easier than peeling off those shells.

I watched a Poirot the other day where the lady was writng the dates on the eggs. That sounds like a good, idea, then you won't get mixed up in your experiment. Even though I don't have chooks, I'll be interested to hear the outcomeI could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

Now I noticed they are difficult to peel. I write the date on mine in pencil, but to be honest, I don't think I've eaten one older than about three days since I've had my girls.
If I get a damaged one (before the little bu**ers eat it) I beat it up and give it to the cat - she loves them. Can't give raw eggs to the dog now, not with his dodgy stomach. All the best - Glutton 4 Punishment

It isn't just the airspace, the texture of the white changes too (hence the 'sitting up' if cracked into a saucer).Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

Hmmmm. Pickeld eggs! I love them. Himself hates them - and the associated aroma from me!Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

I always plunge hard boiled eggs into cold water as it stops the yolk creating a dark ring around the outside against the white. I have two that I am keeping in the back of the fridge to make sure they don't get eaten. and a note to hard boil them next Thursday. I will then increase or decrease by single days accordingly to see when the optimum time is - serious stuff thisHayley B
