earler on this evening, just as the daylight was starting to fade, the sky was shades of red and greys, have not seen it like that since last summer,we had a look from the upstairs window, what a grand sight, snow just starting melt away, some roof tops with bits of snow, and the bare trunks and branches of trees, was a grand sight,a bit later on,the sky became very dark,it was just as if someone was pulling night time over like pulling a lid on day time, until it was dark, nice but an eerie feel, wonder if the saying ,red sky at night,is on the cards,if onlysigpicAnother nutter ,wife, mother, nan and nanan, love my growing places, seed collection and sharing, also one of these

Sure have Maureen. I always notice it in February. It means there is just about enough light to get some seeds started. It's a shame it is so cold as I like to get seedlings outdoors as soon as possible - for part of the day at least. Makes them really short and sturdy. But far too cold this year. Looking forward to warmer days.

My husband's gran used to say that from the first Sunday in February you could eat your tea without the light on. (She did have her tea t 4.00 p.m. though!)Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.
