I've borrowed Lynda's but there's some cheap ones on Ebay, this one looks really good New Forced Air Incubator / hatching eggs on eBay, also, Poultry Hatching Incubation, Pet Supplies, Home Garden (end time 09-Feb-09 11:01:40 GMT)My girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there

i have a maino, but only cos the bloke that maureen put the link on to didn't have any on, and i got it cheap .....to be honest, unless you are going for large quantities of hatchings theres not much point in going for a big expensive one, basically they all do the same thing, and all you really need is a constant 37.5-38 temperature.
the only exception i would say is if you aren't going to be able to turn the eggs a minimum of 3 times a day, then go for an automatic turning one, but they are a lot more expensive
if i had to buy one now, i'd go for the one on the link xx

yes NSB a minimum of 3 times a day to make sure the chick doesn't stick to the sides or get deformed, on day 18 you stop turning them.
and yes you have to turn them in the maino too as it isn't automatic
i got mine for about £40 including a digital thermometer so you can get em cheap, but you have to keep your eyes peeled

The Octagon can be purchased with or without a 'turning cradle'. If you buy the cradle, that runs everything for you, if not, then you simply change the 'tilt' of the whole thing at suitable intervals, rather than needing to turn each egg by hand. It does make life easier.....Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

I want an incubator cheap around the prices snadger and lynda paid but it has to be able to turn itself as im at work all day. Please if anyone sees one can they please pm me. There is absolutley nothing in south east england. Everyhting is miles away collection only. Or I was thinking is there someone who can incubate some eggs for me and I come and collect the chicks.

as long as you turn them in the morning, and when you get home and again before bed they will be fine, but will keep eyes peeled, very much doubt you'll get an automatic one for anywhere near that price though.
have a look on ebay at eggs, you often find that sellers will say day olds available as well as eggs, or you could email local sellers, and ask if they would hatch you some?
or try local poultry auctions, or see if you can find any other local breeders. (often found on specific breed sites), or theres a magazine think it's called practical poultry, or something, which has adverts in itLast edited by lynda66; 09-02-2009, 07:53 PM.
