I have a friend (near-ish neighbour) with 2 Welsummer cockerels, I know she was wanting to get rid of 1 of them but I'm not sure if she took him to market or not. Is Stafford a bit too far away?
My girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there

It's a couple of hours drive from us, but if we combined it with another trip out for something, then I'm sure it would be fine
When I had eggs to hatch, I was told NOT to add water for humidity until the eggs had got warmed up, otherwise you get condensation on them. Just a thought.
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

Thanks for that Hilary, I was thinking about putting the water pot in after a couple of days. I was talking to a friend tonight about this, and he said that from about day 18 when I stop turning the eggs, to spray (with a mister) a little water over the eggs too. Anyone else heard that?
Not even at Day 1 yet and I'm panicking already

Yep, it may help to gently damp the eggs for the last few days. Some people belive it makes the shell slightly easier for the chick to break through. Use warm water......
Duck and goose eggs need more humidity than chicken, but it is possible to hatch a 'mixed batch' if you damp the waterfowl eggs daily (a gentle dab with a damp sponge worked for me) to mimic the way Mama duck goes to the water and comes back with wet feathers.
The one thing that didn't work was mixing duck and turkey eggs. Chicken eggs will mix with either (less fussy).
