          Sorry Shirl, His Lordship has priority access online so I don't frequent as often as I'd like.

            As we pickle a lot of eggs because we all like them (big family), I had the same problem so I left them out in the kichen for 2 weeks and didn't have one bit trouble, we pickle chicken and Quail eggs but we have yet to try the duck eggs pickled as we eat them fresh on the day they're layed.

            So I say two weeks and there just right for hard boiling, I also boil mine for 10 mins the Quail eggs for 2 mins
