got my 6 ex-batts last saturday 1st pic is when we got them home, theyve come on leaps and bounds. other pics are yesterday when i let them out in the garden, they loved it.....must admit i got a bit tearful seeing them doing chicken things scratting round, stretching their wings and just being 'free'. One even got through to next door;s garden but came back when i shook the corn tin theyre still looking scraggy no feathers and very scittish but i'm really happy that their here and being chickens. Ive introduced them to my 2 original girls and other than a bit of pecking its generally been ok. They now love porridge, corn, and my OH gave them some mealworms yesterday they nearly took his arm off. I'm spreading the word at work and think ive convinced a couple of people to take ex-batts - theyre gonna come and look at mine to look at the shed conversion. And they are laying (Sorry Beph) i sold my first 12 eggs yesterday so they are now contributing to their food bill.
sorry its so long but wanted to share with you all.
