Woo Hoo! Congratulations! My first hens waited ages to lay their first eggs, I went away for a month left OH in charge and they immediately started laying! So I never did see my first ever egg!

Well...we had an egg each this morning with nice bacon and home made bread! Oh my goodness....it was amazing!!! So creamy, and full of flavour!!

Yeah Snadger, that's a freshly laid fav egg. It was a good size (1.9oz) and I was super impressed with how perfect it looks, considering their still learning to lay...lol. They kept us waiting...they are now 35 weeks!!

Another two today as well - It's definitely Gwendolyn & Henrietta laying...so Euphemia should start shortly. Henrietta layed one in front of me today...in the middle of her run...lol...and Gwendolyn brewed one for well over an hour...but after all that she produced the most perfect little 1.9oz egg. (Spooky they're all exactly 1.9oz!!)

              I love chickens!!!

Yes Nicos....it's amazing...the warmth is lovely. It's strange how it affects your feelings towards your girls - I've always adored them, as I'm sure you all know...but when I watched Gwendolyn going through the long pain staking process to give us a lovely little egg...well it really touched my heart....it really is a little bit of love encased in a shell!

Ok, maybe I'm being a bit romantic....but things touch me very easily...maybe it's my hormones!! Or just the joy of life!

                  The end!!

The plates were a weekend buy...at the chinese grocery store in Glasgow. A real bargain too...they have the full set. Think I'll be heading back there at the weekend!!!
