It might only be a couple of months before Pingu gives you her first egg, she might be one of the "early layer" types. Are they all on pellets now or still on crumb/mash?
My girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there

been on pellets for ages ....... though they don't like em, so i mix em in and put yummies with them like home made bread and cat biccies oats and boiled slug and make into a mash (mostly pellets), about 4 times a day .... if i put pellets in they bury em to make me think they've eaten em and stand there telling me they are starving

lol, no i pour boiling water on em, cos if i put them in a tub inthe playpen they take em out then i'm removing slugs from the carpet for days, cos they get all excited and drop em and the slimy things escape

they eat em alive when were outside on a slug hunt

I couldn't do that - boil the little things to death?? I can't even stand watching them kill a worm...in fact, I have been known to save them!

            I'm too soft, but....it's moi!

            You're eeeevil!!

You are revolting Lynda lol! I HATE slugs, but I still don't think I could do that to one. Well, I know I couldn't, I can't even bring myself to pick one up - even with gloves on!

I only weigh the eggs when I'm making cakes so I get the proportions of butter / sugar / flour right
My girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there

I weighed my eggs for the first month- cos I'd never seen a bantam egg before and it seemed tiny!!!!
Then I realised the first eggs were often smaller to start with- and then they stopped getting bigger/heavier and now weigh 32-36g ( well they did until they were sat upon!)

I've just bought some medium 'normal' eggs - and they look HUGE!!!!!!!!- goodness what a large egg would look like in comparison- mine seem so 'normal' now until I put them into an egg box!

No more weighing needed for me- at 60g for a 'standard' egg, I know mine are 1/2egg for cooking
